Giving Green is UNC Charlotte’s community engagement plan to celebrate the efforts of our staff, faculty and students to give back to the Charlotte region through our time, work and financial contributions. It also gives us a vital opportunity to coordinate, collaborate and develop how we contribute to the community, then measure the results of those contributions.

More than 90% of Fortune 500 companies have an employee volunteer program. Like Disney’s VoluntEARS, Albacore’s One-by-One and IBM’s Reinventing Education programs, Giving Green focuses UNC Charlotte’s volunteer programs on supporting core business functions such as:

Brand reinforcement Diversity development Relational development
Volunteer skills development Social issue leadership
Engaging younger or new workers Expanded recognition and
engagement activitie
s Improved disaster relief strategies

VoluntEARS, One-by-One and Reinventing Education are intellectual properties of Disney, Albacore and IBM. All rights reserved.

UNC Charlotte already offers 24 hours paid leave for community service. This benefit gives our employees, faculty and staff the prime opportunity to take ownership in and become a vital part of UNC Charlotte through the Giving Green program. By volunteering with Giving Green, you help:

Support UNC Charlotte’s core business goals
Develop employee morale, university pride, productivity,
team building and skills development

Build trusting relationships with critical stakeholders
Give UNC Charlotte a more positive face in the community
Foster a sense of goodwill that can be leveraged to support giving

Stay tuned for the 2008-2009 areas of focus for the University’s give back efforts!
